Hi -
Thank you for listing the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge on your web
site! We built a new wildlife education center (visitor center) and
opened
in spring of 2006. Part of the project included a 1/2 mile long
accessible
walking trail (concrete) that is great for birding in spring, summer
and
fall. A couple of benches are located along the trail for resting.
It's
great for wheelchairs too.
Birds observed from the walk include hawks, egrets, herons, long-billed
curlew, American bittern, sora, Virginia rail, blackbirds, marsh wrens
and
much more. In addition, birding by car from the county road that
accesses
the refuge's auto tour route is great birding as well. (I believe you
mentioned birding from a vehicle). This summer, we hope to begin a
project
that will pave this road that goes out to the refuge - better access
than
the current gravel road that is sometimes quite rough.
If you have any questions, please contact me. Our web site is at:

be
found there.
